The Intarawut Textile Collection

The Intarawut collection showroom comprises a menagerie of weaving and cloth techniques from all regions of Thailand and Southeast Asia.Notable two-color silk, as well as handloommatmi (ikat), a trademark of Eastern Thai production, can be found in Intarawut's modern and classic designs. The range of colors is endless and new designs emerge each season.Intarawut also exhibits hand-loom silk wall hangings, which have ended up in major interior design installations throughout the United States. The extensive textile collection includes cotton tunics, blouses and bags inspired from the first hand-loomed creations she discovered in the Karen villages of the North. The muted colors, occasionally punctuated by a checkerboard or other geomatric pattern, have become a trademark of the gallery. The use of hemp was introduced to Hathaithip by Akha friends from the Kok and Ing Valleys of the far North of Thailand.Today, simple, miraculous decorative or utilitarian products made from these fibers, are always available in the showroom.
